Tourists and locals in the popular Mediterranean resort town of Alanya have flocked to the beaches to cool off. While the beaches are flooded with swimmers and sunbathers, some tourists prefer to perform water sports. Officials from the Antalya Provincial Meteorology Directorate have announced that the wind chill in Alanya has reached 35 degrees Celsius in the shade, while the water temperature is around 25 degrees Celsius. Health officials have warned that vacationers, especially the elderly and children, should not spend time under the sun if not necessary, particularly between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. |
