GAZIPASA AIRPORT OFFCIALLY OPEN   2010-07-27

First Airplane has landed on Gazipasa Airport on 12th of July, 2010

On 12^th of July 2010, first airplane has landed to Gazipasa Airport. Bora Jet Airlines scheduled flight arrived in airport 11.05 am local time from Istanbul. Bora Jet officials say that as of today our daily flights from/to Gazipasa – Istanbul will be operating regularly. Among the passengers Vesa Juntonen famous Finnish lawyer and Trust United general manager Durmus Ozgen said this will increase the business through out Alanya and Gazipasa region. The first flights into and out of the airport, as well as the likely future they signal could be massively beneficial to the Alanya property market according to Trust United Co.  Having said that Ankara-Gazipasa Flights will be underway soon said by Bora Jet CEO.

Gazipasa Major Özgenç said Bora Jet has been offered a guarantee to fly at 100 percent capacity for the first month. “If the seats remain empty, they will be financed by us and some residents of Gazipasa,” he said. After one month, the flights will continue on a regular schedule. The people of Alanya, Anamur and Gazipaşa should be ready and buy as many tickets as possible. The more we show interest in the tickets the more flights will be launched,” the mayor said.

Bora Jet is Turkey’s first airline company to launch regional small-size commercial air transportation with Turboprop ATR 72-500 propeller planes. The Turboprop ATR 72-500 planes can carry 74 passengers; however Bora Jet has reduced the number of passengers to 66.
